Orchestral Woodwind Specialist
We now have an opening for a Woodwind Specialist to join our sales team at a busy south Manchester Music Shop. Working as part of the sales team this role would require an advanced player who also understands the pressures and challenges of a dynamic retail environment both online and a traditional 'brick and mortar' store. Working closely with the current Manager to drive and develop the Woodwind and Brass department to really establish itself as one of the finest in the country.
The role is quite diverse and includes dealing with many scenarios from 5 year olds starting on their musical journey all the way up to leading professionals who travel the world and rely on us to assist them in their musical journey. Communication, high levels of customer service, expertise and friendliness will be at the heart of the role with responsibility for dealing with queries across the whole range. Working closely with the rest of the team reporting directly to the business owner, you will be given the tools to help meet the goals of the company and develop your own personal skill set as well as Woodwind department. For the right candidate responsibilities will develop to include supplier account management, buying, deciding on product ranges and pricing.
The role of the Woodwind Specialist will include:
o To ensure customers' expectations are exceeded
o Develop and build sales relationships by engaging customers in genuine, enjoyable conversations to understand their needs, help them choose the right products and show them the features and benefits of those products
o Gain knowledge in our complete instrument product line working to develop the current selection.
o Keep up to date with all of the current trends within the Instrument world - products, services and manufacturer's promotions
o Participate in projects like in-store and music education events
o To meet and exceed sales targets
o Online product representation and working to drive sales both in store and online

The successful candidate should have a very good understanding of the products within all the Woodwind and Brass instruments ranges with some knowledge of Strings and Guitars being advantageous. Knowledge of basic instrument maintenance and very minor repairs would also be advantageous but not essential as training could be given.
